Day 1 · Thursday, September 9
Overnight Flight
Depart Edmonton for Northern Italy, home to vineyards, Venice and Verona.
Day 2 · Friday, September 10
Treviso
Arrive in Treviso, the birthplace of tiramisu, and settle into your hotel for the next seven nights. Meet your fellow travellers for a welcome dinner, where a local pastry chef shares the secrets of this famous dessert. (D)
Day 3 · Saturday, September 11
Treviso
A guided walking tour of “Venice on the Mainland,” with its Gothic windows, canals and riverside charm. Afterwards, browse the local market or the historic fish market, and try radicchio trevigiano, a regional autumn specialty. (B)
Day 4 · Sunday, September 12
Verona
Travel to the romantic city of Romeo & Juliet. Choose between a walking tour of Verona’s painted houses or a riverside stroll, then see Juliet’s balcony and the Roman Arena before free time to explore. (B)
Day 5 · Monday, September 13
Asolo & the Prosecco Hills
Explore the hilltop village of Asolo, beloved by Hemingway and Stravinsky. Then head into the Prosecco hills (UNESCO) to taste sparkling wine at a local vineyard and learn to make pasta with an Italian nonna. (B, D)
Day 6 · Tuesday, September 14
Venice
Arrive in Venice by boat. Watch a master glassblower at work, then explore St. Mark’s Square, Doge’s Palace and the Basilica. Free time for an optional gondola ride. (B)
Day 7 · Wednesday, September 15
The Dolomites
A scenic drive through the UNESCO-listed Dolomites to Cortina, the “Pearl of the Dolomites,” with a cable-car ride up Mount Faloria, weather permitting. (B)
Day 8 · Thursday, September 16
Bassano del Grappa
Wander the cobblestone piazzas of Bassano del Grappa and its famous Palladian bridge. In the evening, tour a classic Venetian villa still owned by its noble family, followed by a farewell dinner. (B, D)
Day 9 · Friday, September 17
Treviso · Tour Ends
Ciao, Italia! Fly home, or continue on the optional Cunard cruise departing Venice today. (B)
